Part 2 - Annual Geocaching Trip - 2018 version

For those that missed part 1 - you can see it here

Day 5 - May 22

Agenda for the day:
1) Finish the Donut GeoTrail
2) Start (and hopefully finish) the Quilt Trail

We got up extra early to try to make sure we
finished up the Donut Trail.  We actually found a
mistake we made yesterday by failing to write
down the code word for a geocache in the series.
Now the trick was to figure out which cache
we failed to record!  It wasn't too hard
and we quickly corrected our mistake, met some
more geocachers and then made it to the Visitor
Center to claim our coin!!!

We then proceeded to the Clinton County Barn Quilt Trail.
If you haven't done this series - be prepared
for a minimum of 4 hours of driving on country roads!!!
Plenty of nice country scenery!!!

The Trail was fun - just be prepared for a lot of driving!!!

We finished up 29 of the 30 finds before throwing
in the towel and heading towards the Tuesday
night event at a local Chili spot.

We had some Chili and met a bunch of new cachers!!!
Traded some pathtags and other SWAG!
Thanks to those we met and traded with!

Day 6 - May 23

When we first started planning this trip, this was an
open day with no particular agenda.  But since
we missed one quilt yesterday on the Quilt Trail - the
first thing on our list for the day was to finish
the trail and get our coin!!!
Psst... you want a hint for the quilt?
We drove back to Clinton County and quickly found
our missing quilt!!!  We then made our way to
the Tourism Center, met a really nice lady and had a great conversation about some local attractions and
then received our coin!!!

During my research (before the trip) I had noticed
a cache with a lot of favorite points and it seemed like
something Nana would like.  Off we headed
towards what would be a surprise for Nana!!!

A castle in Ohio?

Nana loved the castle - but if I know Nana - I know
there is one thing she loves more!!!  Cemetery

This plan for the day was to geocache until late afternoon,
then drop by Coney Island to pick up our
package for GeoWoodstock 2018!!!

We got up early and ventured towards the Kentucky
side of the Ohio river.

  We then toured some really
nice places, grabbed some park n grabs and then,
in the late afternoon, ventured towards Coney Island.

After picking up our GeoWoostock package we
grabbed some challenge caches along the Ohio side
of the river and then grabbed some dinner with
Barbara and Michael, fellow geocachers from Virginia.

Day 8 - May 25

Our pre-planning had this as an open day.  No real plans!
So when we were invited to tag along with some
fellow geocachers - we jumped at the chance!!!
Plus, I knew they were really good at Reverse Wherigo caches!!!

We started out on the Cincinnati's waterfront park - what
a great place!!!

We ran into some other cachers, really nice people,
together we completed 2 Wherigos and a couple of traditional caches before heading further into the downtown area.

After a few more caches we exchanged some trading items and then went on our way.

We ended the day by grabbing more caches in and
 around the Cincinnati area.
