SLOGGERS Outing #2 was FANTASTIC!

The Outing had been scheduled and we all had our fingers crossed hoping

the weathermen would give us a fantastic day.

We were rewarded with a day in the 70's - the park had plenty of visitors!!!

S.L.O.G.G.E.R.S. Outing #2 - The Results!!!

We arrived at the initial coordinates and we had both experienced cachers as well as newbies!!!

We combined into 3 vehicles and headed out.

We stopped at a Park n Grab on the way

to our parking coordinates and grabbed cache #1.

Once we unpacked and got ready for our hike, we took the above picture!

The first thing we ran across less than 500 feet from the autos was a nice size snake sunning himself on the path

We all had a great time SLOWLY hiking from cache to cache!

Sizes Found: Micro, Regular and Large

Types Found: Challenge, Virtual, Letterbox (which was also a multi) and Traditional

We ate under this old Rusty Wallace car!

Later, at lunch, we all had stories to tell!

SLOGGERS Event #1 @ First Landing State Park

So, event #2 will be at Newport News Park.

This Saturday, February 25 at 9:00 AM

(yes 9:00 AM - not 10:00)

Meet at N 37° 11.285 W 076° 33.481 

we will condense/combine vehicles, if needed.

(Limited parking near caches)

9:15 AM - leave to go get caches

Breakfast starts at 8AM, the Meet n Greet portion from 9 till 930 and everyone is invited to join this group of geocachers up from near the North & South Carolina border area.  After the event they plan on attacking SNAP!!!-land and a few other caches in the area.

SLOGGERS Event #2

This event will start at 10AM and go until we have wiped out the 6 caches on the target list.

Meet at the Campground side of Newport News Park, get into 2 or 3 cars, 

proceed to the parking coords and then head out.   About 2 - 2.5 miles total walking.
